:: Random NPC—Mani, Draconian Monk ::

Short in stature, but with long legs, Mani cuts an almost frog-like figure among the other draconians of the Iguanar horde. At a drunken glance, some might mistake her for some overgrown Ranai, if it weren't for her thick hide of frosted scales and tiny, squinting, articulated eyes. Always drawn to a more traditional form of dress, she can frequently be seen practicing the forms of her Scorpion Style—an impressive demonstration of the discipline she gained from long years of study—in the Temple of Hibernation under the sands of the Akkedis Desert.

No stranger to secrets, Mani safeguards the location of her daughter, the result of a youthful dalliance with a draconian archer from another tribe. So suddenly was their passion kindled those many years ago that neither had even given the other their name before their union had reached its climax and they were obliged to return to their homelands. Mani laid the egg in her mother's cave, never telling her what had happened, and for a time she happily thought forward to the day she could meet the offspring of her unexpected love. But what was happiness soon turned to despair.

by Wm Jay Carter III, 6/19/15

Tor Ysbryd Garreg
Prominent Feature: Tor
Nation: Bóreans
Condition: Lush, Holy
Weather: Sprinkles
Color: Redwood
Keyword: Gargantuan

For the last hour of your journey all other conifers have given way to trees as tall as castles—the mighty redwoods. Through the bare lower trunks you see a dim glow the color of lapis gracing the silhouettes of the underbrush; you know you’re close. Finally, as you clear the treeline your full view is overwhelmed by gargantuan hunks of stone piled haphazardly upon one another. Tor Ysbryd Garreg towers above you, above even the tops of the redwood trees.
The company of bórean exemplars has already arrived, attesting to the efficiency of their tunnels. The avatar of stone steps forward, reciting the final plea of the ritual. You pause just inside the treeline to sit and watch the ceremony. The rain sprinkles your face, the spongy moss yields under your hands, and for a moment you let the sanctity of the place ease the tension in your body. Then, the avatar’s recitation reaches a crescendo, the lapis glow intensifies, and the forest floor begins to tremble…

:: Random Item—Flail of Dōngjì ::

Flail of Dōngjì
by Wm Jay Carter III, 6/11/15

a seraph
Weapon: Flail
Culture: Human
Condition: Cold, Light
Color: Jade
Keyword: Epic

The ancient human temple lays open, devoid of any guards or watchful sentries. Inside, just beyond the forechamber, is a sight that rings true with the words of the epic poem about this place: unmoving, the head of a gargantuan ajagara protrudes into the nave from the roof, jaws wide, fin-like ridges flexing in agitation, encased in feet-thick layers of spiky ice from nose to neck.
At the epicenter of these spikes, piercing the dragon’s eye-ridge with spikes of its own, is the head of a jade flail, the chain and handle of which trail downward as if the weapon were once held by a warrior standing on the ground below that fearsome maw. And there, on the floor of the nave, a monstrous scorch-mark is all that remains of Aippaq, the legendary seraphim warrior. If the tales are true, that is...
